It is ideal to live in an urban environment with access to every necessity that you need for your everyday needs, whether by transportation or by foot. Some Filipino millennials think that condominiums can bring them this convenience and all-access. But for some, condominiums may cost much and may not be as comfortable. Unless you know very well what you’re looking for and know which one fits your pocket and lifestyle, it will be a lot easier than you think. Here is what you can do to get started:

Find an affordable condominium

Right after being introduced to a unit and being enticed with its features and interior design, the price then comes into play. If you don’t completely understand why the units are priced as such, don’t hesitate to ask questions. It is also good to know at least the background of the developer and the target market – high-end or luxury (class A-B) or mid-class or mid-average (class B-C) – for that condo you’re interested in. Doing this will help you decide whether it’s a good value for your money. That way, you won’t have a hard time calculating your monthly expenses and everything else in between.

Know the environment

Aside from the price, it is good to get an overview of what’s within the vicinity. That is if there is a hospital nearby for emergencies, convenience stores, church, mall, police station or a school for your children. If the neighborhood has what you need most or at least you have easy access to via public transportation, then make it a part of your consideration.

Consider someone to stay with you

If you think that paying up your monthly dues for the rent alone is too much on your pocket, then consider having a roommate/s to stay with you. Not only that you can save up on your monthly expenses, you definitely would not be spending your nights alone.

Be oriented with the amenities

In renting/buying a condo unit, it’s equally important to look at its amenities. It will be good to have at least a gym, parking space, laundry, or clinic in the condo. Find out which ones are free and which ones require fees to plan out your monthly budget better.

Read carefully the master deed

This is probably one of the most important documents that you need to get familiar with. It is crucial on your part to be knowledgeable of the conditions given to you as a condo unit owner. It wouldn’t hurt to know what should and shouldn’t be done, right? That way, you can live harmoniously with your neighbors.
