We all undergo several temptations when taking a strict diet or enrolling into a program in a gym. It takes guts to push yourself to your limits. But when you need more of motivation, these 10 tips are for you to help you get started.

  1. Drink lots of water

Start your day with a glass of water every morning right after you wake up. Drink before meals and before you go to bed. Drinking water can help remove toxins from your body and can help you lose weight. Why? When you drink more than two glasses of water before meals, you get the partial feeling of being full. You then eat less during the meal.  Also your body needs regular supply of water especially when you become dehydrated. So start ditching on the canned drinks and sodas and start drinking crystal clear water.

 

  1. Have enough sleep

A lack of sleep makes you feel tired and uneasy when you go to work or school. It makes you lose the interest of actually doing anything. You choose to stay idle and sleep more. Same goes with sleeping for only 2-4 hours daily. This scenario can increase the risk of damaging your physical health, particularly the heart. Your whole system, especially when you’re stressed, needs a break so that you’ll be able to function well and have greater attention and focus during the day.  Have enough sleep, at least 6-8 hours for an average adult.

 

 

3. Stretch in the morning

 

As soon as you wake up, make this a habit by stretching your body to help you get started. Stretching is also one way of waking up your system to prevent it from dozing off and to get hyped for the day.

 

 

 

4. Snack the healthy way

 

Ditch yourself from picking junk foods like fried crackers, cup noodles, and processed foods and start looking at the greens section. Change your mindset of wanting to eat salty and junk food. Instead, start eating fruits and vegetables. You can either follow a strict vegetarian diet or have a customized diet plan. Anything that works best for you will do for as long as you start living and eating healthy.

As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is best to fill your stomach with a healthy and full meal because this will give you more focus and nutrients that are needed to keep your system alive and alert for rest of the day. A full and healthy breakfast can also help you lessen your food intake throughout the day. This plus a glass of water before and after meal, you are good to go.

Walking is another form of exercise that you can easily do every day. It may not show its effects right away but having to make your legs move help you lose weight slowly yet effectively. So take the stairs, instead of the elevator or escalator. Walk to where you’re going if it’s just a block away. This also helps promote heart health and blood circulation.

Make time for your social life as well. Aside from taking physical activities to consideration, having time with other people helps you boost your confidence and social skills. It’s time to check the label. If you’re unfamiliar with the words that you find in the label, better yet search it up on the web. You can also research ahead of time the kinds of food that are healthy and can be bought at the supermarkets near you. Know that the goods you buy in the market are not all what it seems. Don’t stick with your usual activities. Start something new. This is the perfect opportunity to find out what your limitations are beyond knowing what you can do. This is also a great time to see new places, meet new friends and have new experiences and stories to tell to your friends and family.

The best thing you would really want to do is love your life. Embrace the experiences and never regret a single one because everything happens to you for a reason – a reason to learn, grow, experience, nurture, and share.
